EXTRA TIP: JAZZ UNDER THE PALM TREES ON MAINAU ISLAND

Ellington with a difference: the duo Sunswept Sunday brings a breath of fresh air to the music of the jazz maestro. Since 2020, Daniel Kartmann (hammered dulcimer, drums, cornetto) and Torsten Papenheim (guitar, percussion, melodica) have been dedicating themselves to the lesser-known works of Duke Ellington – with unusual instrumentation and a keen sense for new timbres. The result: intimate, chamber music-like jazz moments with a holiday atmosphere.

Fri, September 5, 2025, 7 p.m. doors open, 8 p.m. start – Sunswept Sunday

📍 Weinkeller beim Torbogengebäude, Insel Mainau
🔗 mainau.de/de/jazz-unter-palmen-sunswept-sunday

From rock bars to island jazz: live music may not be on every corner in Konstanz (& Kreuzlingen), but wherever it is played, you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Tip: And if you’re still looking for the right outfit – whether it’s black leather pieces or a casual oversized shirt – you can shop for the perfect style for your concert evening at LAGO.
