START OF CONSTRUCTION LAGO TRAFFIC CIRCLE

The construction work to implement the “C-concept”, which is associated with great expectations in terms of traffic calming and quality of stay, is in full swing. Thank you for the great understanding with which you as a visitor to the LAGO accept the construction sites around the center!

From today and for an estimated six weeks, a further construction measure will be carried out: The “Bodanplatz” bus stop in Bodanstrasse will be renewed.

The “Bodanplatz” bus stop will be closed during the construction work. If you want to take the bus to LAGO, either get off one stop later at the train station (200 m to LAGO) or one stop earlier at “Schnetztor” – from there it is 350 meters to LAGO. ​

Arrival by car and access to the LAGO parking garage is still possible. On weekdays, Bodanstraße will be narrowed to one lane at the bus stop using roadworks traffic lights. This may result in a slightly longer journey time. At weekends and on public holidays, the roadworks will be reduced so that both lanes can be used.​

Good prospects in the old town of Constance​​

“C-Concept” is the name of the new traffic concept for Constance’s old town ring road. This includes the construction of a traffic circle at the LAGO (intersection of Bodanstrasse, Hafenstrasse and Bahnhofplatz). The construction work for this will start on Monday, May 22. The prospects are positive: less traffic on Bodanstrasse, less congestion on peak days and the prospect of a new, car-free promenade between the train station and LAGO with a high quality of stay. Important for you: both during and after the construction work, the LAGO will remain accessible and well connected by all means of transport!

The first step will be to set up the construction site from Monday, May 22. Traffic will flow past the construction site into the LAGO multi-storey parking lot by means of traffic lights – on one lane for a length of approx. 100 meters via the LAGO intersection into Hafenstraße. Access to the LAGO parking garage via Bodanstraße is possible at all times. When exiting, traffic then flows via Bahnhofplatz.
