A PERFECT NOVEMBER DAY IN KONSTANZ

CAPPUCCINO, PHOTOGRAPHY & COCKTAILS

Konstanz inspires locals and visitors alike, even in late autumn. The city offers cultural highlights throughout the year – currently, for example, with Klaus Polkowski’s new exhibition: “Retrospective” – 35 years of photography. Taken on travels across five continents, his pictures portray special encounters, places, and emotions. Before and after? Head to LAGO to shop, feast, and relax. Here’s what your perfect day could look like:

9:30 a.m. – Wake up: Cappuccino & French toast

Start the day in a relaxed manner – for example, with breakfast at Emma’s with cappuccino and pain au chocolat or with French toast, plum ragout, and yogurt espuma at Cotidiano. If you prefer something savory, treat yourself to the avocado version, Strammer Max, or a salmon bagel with fresh orange juice. The selection is huge. You can watch the morning hustle and bustle on the new Center Boulevard through the large windows while you enjoy your breakfast.

11:00 a.m. – Shopping time, part 1: Gifts & new looks

Now it’s time to explore the shops: Boss, Soho, Hollister & Co. have cool coats, cozy hoodies, and stylish ribbed beanies, Humanic has trendy boots, and RITUALS has seductive winter fragrances to sample. If you want to avoid the stress of gift shopping just before Christmas, you can already find good books and entertaining games at Thalia Osiander, sparkling jewelry at Lovisa, and sugar-sweet treats at World of Candy.

1:00 p.m. – Lunch & Relax: From Asian bowls to onion tart

Whether Thai at Thang Long, sushi at Puru, or pizza at Macaroni – everyone will find something to suit their taste for lunch at LAGO. If you prefer to eat outside, the rooftop of the Glorious Garden offers a stylish setting with a fantastic view of the lake and Alps, weather permitting. It’s the perfect place for a pumpkin spice latte, if nothing else.

3:00 p.m. – Artwalk: Leica Gallery Konstanz

Before continuing with your afternoon shopping, it’s worth taking a detour to the old town: the Leica Gallery Konstanz is showing an impressive collection by photographer Klaus Polkowski in its “Retrospective” exhibition. His sensitive portraits and landscape photographs tell stories of people and moments – unembellished, intimate, moving.
The exhibition is like a visual travel diary – from the jungle to the big city, from artists to indigenous peoples.

5:00 p.m. – Shopping time, part 2: Self-care & must-have items

Back at LAGO, it’s time for round two of shopping. Only buy what feels good. A few ideas? KIKO Milano has shimmering eyeshadow sticks and lip oils in a snow-kissed look, while Intimissimi and Schiesser offer cozy basics. You can browse for home and leisure items at Nanu-Nana – from decorations to DIY kits. And if you’re still looking for sparkling details for the festive season, Swarovski has some dazzling eye-catchers.

10:00 p.m. – Open-end: Fries, ice cream, or DJ beats?

Now it’s time to decide: wind down or turn up the volume? At the Center, the choice is yours. For example, you can end the evening with loaded fries and craft beer at Glorious Bastards, enjoy a gelato to go at Le Golosità (yes, even in November: ice cream is always a good idea!) or dance the night away to Latin beats with a Royal Spritz at the Deli.

Whether it’s drinks & chill or rousing salsa – you decide how your perfect day ends. The main thing is that you enjoyed it. If you’re now in the mood to try it out for yourself, then see you soon in Konstanz!
