TWICE A YEAR A HORTICULTURAL COMPANY TAKES CARE OF THE GREEN ROOF.
Well-tended sedum plants grow on the roof of LAGO. Robust and hardy, Sedum is a real survivor, keeps well indrought, blooms in beautiful colors, and is the first port of call for our LAGO bees that make the roof their home.
The greening of roofs has other advantages: it provides good insulation of the building. Planted over a wide area, in summer the roof looks like an air conditioner and in winter like thermal insulation. The more plants grow in a city, the better pollutants are removed and filtered from the air. Thus, LAGO’s roof contributes to a positive climate balance and, hence, to a good air quality in Constance.
And the team from Hainmüller Gartengestaltung enjoys working on LAGO’s roof – you don’t get a view like that every day.
